Privacy policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
This policy covers this website and the Anemonie uploader, the private tool Anemonie's developer uses to publish the app's showcase videos to the developer's own YouTube channel (see the uploader page).
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and embeds nothing from other sites. Its web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time and the page requested, without query strings or request headers) for up to 7 days, for security. Links to YouTube open YouTube's own site, under the Google Privacy Policy.
What the uploader reads from Google
When the developer signs in with Google, the uploader asks for two permissions:
- Manage your YouTube account (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube): to upload videos to the signed-in channel, add them to its playlists, set their thumbnails, and read its videos and playlists to confirm uploads. - Your Google account's ID and email address (
openid, email): to check which account signed in, so that uploads only ever go to the developer's own channel.
What it keeps
- The access and refresh tokens Google issues, in a file on the developer's own computer that only the developer's user account can read.
- The signed-in Google account's ID and a masked form of its email address (for example
x****@gmail.com). The full email address is not stored.
Nothing is stored on any server run by the developer. The tokens are sent only to Google's own servers, to make the requests listed above.
How the data is used
Only to carry out the uploads and checks the developer starts. Google user data is never sold, shared with anyone, used for advertising, or used to train AI or machine-learning models.
The Anemonie uploader's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
YouTube API Services
The uploader uses YouTube API Services. Uploads made with it are subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google handles the data under the Google Privacy Policy.
Keeping and deleting data
The tokens stay on the developer's computer until access is revoked or the token file is deleted. Access can be revoked at any time in the Google account's third-party access settings; the uploader then can no longer act on the account. Uploaded videos stay on YouTube under YouTube's terms until they are deleted there.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date above.
